While I was in Massachusetts last week, I decided to buy my first pair of loafers! I brought my Mom with me to Nordstrom, and she did not understand why loafers are making a comeback (I shared her loafer feedback on my TikTok).
Loafers originally were worn by fishermen in Europe during the 1930's, and evolved in the 1950's as a popular shoe choice. They were often paired with bright white socks for a preppy look. Loafers had the benefit of being an elevated slip-on shoe without having to buckle or tie any laces.
Now that loafers have begun making a comeback, specifically the chunky-sole loafers, I have been experimenting with ways to style them (without it looking too old-lady). Sharing below a few styles of chunky loafers I love and ways I have styled mine.
What To Wear: Thanksgiving, Shopping, Meeting your Partner's Parents, "Casual Friday's" at the Office, Date night, etc.
What to Wear: Apple or Pumpkin Picking, Meeting up with Friends, Visiting New England's Foliage, Running Errands, etc.
